Skills *exploring tangrams *sorting & identifying tangram pieces *identifying small, medium, and large shapes covering designs using tangrams *measuring length using nonstandard units *estimating and measuring length and width using nonstandard units *graphing a picture on a pictograph Please help your child count to 100. Transitioning to the next "10" seems to give some problems. We are writing our numbers through 20, filling in missing numbers. Please check for reversals, especially in the teens. Students want to reverse the order of the teens, which will change our numbers completely (eg. 14 becomes 41). Please help your child practice counting coins. Give them some pennies and count by ones, nickels by fives, and dimes by 10's. They should be able to count to $1.00 using any of these coins. Our next coin will be the quarter. |
